Immigration Reform

We are a country of immigrants. Immigrants have built and will continue to build this country. Restricting immigration not only denies the country from benefiting from the millions of people who want to live their lives here, it also enriches the network of human traffickers and “coyotes” who bring people in illegally at exorbitant prices.

  • Stricter laws and security at the border itself, in order to deter human trafficking.
  • More welcoming policy at official border crossings. Visa-free entry to Mexicans provided adults have legal identification. Children must be accompanied by parents.
  • Work with Mexico on creation of a shared database that law enforcement on both sides of the border can access to assess individuals.
  • Customs and Border Patrol will issue identification cards (GUEST WORKER, SEASONAL WORKER) to border crossers in order to help expedite future crossings.
  • Pathway to citizenship to people who are already in the country, enabling them to live outside the shadows and pay taxes like everyone else in the country.
